PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Armstrong Families,

The start of Armstrong’s building project will begin this week with site preparation taking place.  The perimeter of the site will be secured with fencing that will be inspected and approved by the town’s building inspector as well as the fire department.  A portion of the playground will be fenced off to safely secure the construction site. To ensure students’ safety I want to draw your attention to changes in our both our morning drop off and recess routines.

Changes to Morning Drop Off:

Starting tomorrow morning students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 will line up in the gymnasium when arriving to school between 8:30-8:40am.  Due to the new line-up location, parents/guardians of students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 must drop students off at the main entrance when arriving between 8:30-8:40am.  Grade 3 students will continue their morning line up by the flagpole at the West Street entrance as they arrive.  Grade 3 students should use the walkway by the marquee sign when arriving by parent drop-off to reach their morning line-up location between 8:30-8:40am.

Changes to Recess:

Also starting tomorrow, the recess location for Grade 2 and Grade 3 students will change for the remainder of the school year.  Recess for these students will take place on the field behind the Armstrong gymnasium closest to the school.  We have hired an additional Noon -Aide until the building addition is complete to ensure student safety.

I will be emailing regular updates on the progress of Armstrong’s building project. Please contact me with any questions regarding the changes noted in this communication.

Thank you for your flexibility during this very exciting renovation!!!

Sincerely,

John Mendes / Principal
